Westlock came from behind from a 2 - 1 deficit after the 1st period and then 3 - 1 after the 2nd period to come out on top in the final frame with a 4 - 3 win. The win keeps the unbeaten streak going at home with a record of now 3 - 0 in the regular season. The game was an action pack and gave the fans some excitement in the 3rd period to lift the Warriors over the Winterhawks in last nights action. The Warriors struggled in the first and second period to create or generate any offence. Penalty trouble took the any momentum the Warriors may have generated in the 2nd. It seemed like the Warriors came out of the short end of the calls in the 2nd. It seemed like a momentum change happended when #20, Wayne Juniper took the Winterhawks #8 in a fist a cuffs near the end of the 2nd period. The Warriors came out quickly in the 3rd with a goal 34 seconds into the period to bring the deficit to 1 goal. This seemed to lift the Warriors who continued battling and the end result was a win. "The win is huge and it doesn't matter what the margin is the important thing that we got the W and in our home barn, said Coach Kuhar. We just didn't have things happening for us in the first 2 periods, but we made a little tweek to our lines in the 3rd period and that seemed to create some synergy and momentum for us. The team always believed we could do it, it was a matter of getting that first swing going our way and it happened shortly into the 3rd period. Again we have depth as a team and we came together to make it happen. Our 3rd line contributed huge for us and that was big as well for the team. A big come from behind win for our team."
The Warriors play host next Friday Nov. 15/13 in the Spirit Centre against the Morinville Kings. The Warriors lost 6 - 5 to Morinville in Morinville and are looking to keep the home streak going against the Kings. This will be an exciting game. We look for the fans to come out for some exciting hockey action next Friday night.
