Westlock Warriors regain home record with a win last night against the Athabasca Aces 6 - 4. Down 2 - 0 after the first and then 3 - 0 with 16 seconds into the 2nd period had the Warriors in a little shock. Re-focused the team pulled together and finally put a goal on the board midway through the 2nd period and then scored 3 more to end the second period up on the Aces 4 - 3. With that momentum into the second intermission the Warriors held their ground and scored 2 more in the third while the Aces scored once. The Aces pulled their goalie with 1:37 remaining in the third period with no avail. Warriors pulled out a home win to close out their last home game of the year before Christmas. The game was a hard fought affair. "It was a nice win for the guys. They have been wanting this win to get back on track and it was great to see that they came together in the second and third period to make that happen, said Coach Kuhar. The guys have worked hard and good to see their efforts have paid off. This is a big lift for the guys especially going into Slave Lake on Sunday against the Winterhawks. "
The next 2 games Dec. 6 and 13th are road games for the Warriors. The Warriors next home game is Friday January 3/14 when they host Whitecourt Wild. The Warriors are now midway through the regular season and have a 4 - 5 - 0 record presently 3rd in the North Division.
