Warriors drop last regular season game to Slave Lake yesterday 7 - 3. The result doesn't change their standings where they remain in 3 place in the North Division. The Warriors held their own in the first period, however ended down 1 - 0 after the first period. The Warriors ended up in some injury problems late in the 1st period and into the 2nd period and were down 3 players. This left the bench fairly short and resulted in the Winterhawks persistence score 4 in the second ending the second period 5 - 1. Winterhawks got a couple of quick goals early in the 3rd period and a goalie change was made. The Warriors tired were able to get 2 more in the third period, but a little too short ending the game 7 - 3 for Slave Lake. "We could not manage the Slave Lake team as they came at us hard out of the gate and I believe took its toll on us, said Coach Kuhar. Also down John Wohland due to a 2 handed slash on the hands that was not called took him out of the game and then Evan Kuhar battling with another Slave Lake player early in the 2nd period behind the Slave Lake goal took a skate from the opposing player hard on the foot causing him to leave the game with a foot injury. This too was not called. The stick work was made on us all game and no calls and it ended up taking 2 of our players out of the game with no calls. Its disappointing, but guys new they needed to bear down and battle through it. Unfortunately, we just didn't have enough gas in the tank to recover."
