Exhibition Game versus Devon Barons and Warriors win 5 - 3
It seemed like an extended Championship playoff match against Devon last night. Devon had some new look players added to their roster and were looking to send a message to the Warriors. The Warriors however dominated the play in the first period leading 2 - 0. The Warriors added another 2 in the second, while the Barons were able to finally put one on the board near the end of the second. The end of the second period saw Clarence Auger 22 of Devon attack the Warriors #10 Belzevick and then the Warriors #6 Dube stepped in to stand up for the fellow Warrior that ended in another altercation. The second period was filled with several major penalties going each way. In the third the Warriors scored again early and held until 4 minutes remaining when Devon put another one on the board. With 29 seconds remaining the Barons took a time out and pulled there goalie with hopes of closing the score but to no avail. The shoots on goal were Warriors 40 and Barons 43. There was a good crowd on hand to see the preseason game. "It was simply a tough game, which was not what we had expected for a preseason game, said Coach Kuhar. It seemed like we had extended the Championship series that we won last year against them and I feel they were trying to send us a message that they are wanting revenge." This year there is going to be a lot of tough games as there a 3 new teams in the league. Just an exciting start.
